Richard Black

Richard is the founder and director of Mind Health. He is sought after as a counsellor, coach and communicator, and has been involved in people work for over 25 years. Richard has the knack of being able to communicate complex issues in a way that is practical and easy to understand. Through his counselling, training, and public speaking he helps people enhance their thinking, be proactive in relationships, and thrive in life.  Richard was a part of the formational team that created E Tū Tāngata, a charity dedicated to ending the Tall Poppy Syndrome.

He has authored two books: Centred: Knowing who you are in an off-balanced world, and There’s a Happy Moon in My Side (a children's book).

Hazel Prickett

Hazel is an experienced, effective, and sought after counsellor and supervisor. She works with all age groups and enjoys couple counselling and supporting parents and leaders in their roles. She is skilled in equipping people with new perspectives and strategies to feel better and live more successfully. Hazel is warm, caring and easy to relate to and her experience as a parent, school teacher and leadership coach adds to her understanding.

Chris Dalglish

Chris offers a caring and practical approach. He enjoys working with adults and couples to help them overcome obstacles, increase life satisfaction and enhance wellbeing. Chis also provides professional supervision to those in leadership roles. He has many years’ experience working in the commercial sector and with government organisations where he refined his skills in the areas of leadership development, communication and conflict resolution.

Joanne Ballingall - ON MATERNITY LEAVE

Joanne has a wonderful ability to work with adults, adolescents and children. She is compassionate and insightful. Joanne has been in ministry and knows the pressures many face in caring for others. She also desires to support parents in their role of parenting, and has an engaging way of working with children. Her aim is to help people gain the insights they need to thrive in life.

Steve Gwyn

Steve is passionate about helping people find freedom in their thoughts, emotions, and relationships. Warren Gouman

Warren specialises in providing professional supervision to assist leaders and those in helping professions refine their skills and maintain good mental health. He has a passion to see leaders thrive in all their respective roles in life. Warren has over 30 years experience in pastoral leadership, and knows personally the many and varied pressures that leaders face.

Sarah Richards

Sarah enjoys working with adults, teens, children and parents. She is passionate about counselling and the power of the therapeutic relationship to bring healing, insight and personal growth. She has a special interest in the area of grief and loss. Sarah has a knack of working with children and young adults - there is funding available through I am Hope for 5 – 24 year olds.
