Testimonials
"Counselling has helped build awareness and strategies to deal with my daughter's anxiety and she is now in a more settled, happier place."
"Through my counselling sessions, I have completely changed the way I think and respond to people and situations. As a result, I'm more at peace, happier, and I'm beginning to make decisions confidently. I wouldn't have been able to navigate this change by myself, my coach held my hand through very difficult relationship dynamics, and as a result I am a different person to before I met her. I would never want to go back to how I used to see things, my life and future ahead have changed for the better."
“I first met Hazel for counselling a few years ago for support around low moods and unhelpful relationship patterns that were keeping me stuck in grief. Flash forward to 2024 and I returned to working with her, this time for professional supervision, due to the lasting impact she had on my mental health journey. She is an empathetic practitioner with a wealth of knowledge around different counselling philosophies and tools. This allows each session to be rich with new insights regardless of what topics come up. I cannot recommend working with her enough.”
"Throughout my counselling journey, I have received constant, compassionate support. My counsellor has provided an endless amount of care, encouragement, wisdom, and guidance. Through this, I have gained practical tools for managing anxiety, strategies for reframing negative thoughts, and new perspectives in navigating life’s challenges. Her commitment has consistently extended far above and beyond any expectations. She significantly increased my self-awareness and helped me identify issues undetected in over 30 years of my previous counselling experiences. I am truly grateful for her approach and the positive impact she has had on my life."
“Since engaging the services of Mind Health, we have seen a drop from at least 80% of staff using their full 5 days annual sick leave to less than 50%.
Staff have also become more proactive in their mental wellbeing. There is an increase in staff accepting our offer of Mind Health coaching and counselling sessions, for pre-emptive rather than reactive reasons.”
“I had a meeting with Richard via Zoom. Just to let you know he is still totally amazing and I’m so impressed how helpful he is, better than any other EAP I’ve had. I appreciate the support I’m been given. Thank you”
“Our business, home. has hosted Richard Black for many sessions after work hours to present on building resilience, communication and dealing with pressure and stress. These sessions have been incredibly well received by our staff and build partners. Richard has a highly dynamic and engaging way of presenting tough topics with humour and clarity and provides valuable tools to take away and apply to work and home life.”
“The Forte team found the Mind Health presentations by Richard Black both engaging and enlightening, providing a gold mine of material relevant to everyday situations.”
“Through my coaching sessions, I recognised that my past hurts were distorting my current perceptions of life, and my emotions did not need to define (or dictate) who I was. The Mind Health Principles helped me acknowledge that I had the power to choose healing, it provided me coping skills I had never learned and it ultimately empowered me to see that I could choose to either thrive in life or stay in bondage to my past. I highly recommend these principles, they are great tools to add to anyones emotional and mental toolbox.”
“The tools we have both learnt are really benefiting our family and personal growth. Thank you so much, Richard! There is such a need for the practical things you are teaching. We would fully recommend Richard and what he does.”
“Just had my first session with [my coach] and she is absolutely fantastic. I am so looking forward to my journey with her. She is highly skilled and very good at asking exactly the right questions! So glad to have found her! I feel so much hope again”
