Supervision

Overview

Supervision increases a person’s sustainability, safety, and success in their role.

It is recommended that anyone working in the care or management of people has regular supervision for their own wellbeing and support. It is different to mentoring or counselling although it may touch on some of those aspects at different times as needed.

Supervision sessions are generally every 4-8 weeks depending on the person’s role and needs.

Supervision enables employees to:

  • Monitor their wellbeing and sustainability by establishing and maintaining healthy boundaries and self-care practices
  • Discuss difficult workplace situations in confidence
  • Explore strategies for creating better workplace relationships and constructively resolving conflict
  • Review and optimise the way they are working
  • Set personal and professional goals
